TRAINING

Training is carried out in the form of vocational training and education within a business or as full-time training in a specialist course. The specific focus of the training depends on the training location. In a specialist course, personal responsibility and creative self-expression are expected and encouraged, whereas students who train in a business environment learn the specialist techniques used in the particular workshop. Students spend one or two days a week at the school of design learning theory. Subjects such as vocational studies, drawing, applied technology, the history of art, design and ceramics, documentation and presentation, marketing and business management are also included, as well as general education and sport.

If a person can prove that he/she has been working with ceramics in his/her spare time for several years, it is possible to attend vocational college and take the final examinations and also to gain the IPA qualification which accredits practical work carried out independently.
